There is a lot being said about crime and justice. The problem is, not all of it is accurate. Often it's just people making honest mistakes but it can be hard to separate fact from fiction.
That's where we come in. We want people to be fully informed. For us, that means sticking to the facts and challenging the fictions.
So we've decided to do something new. When we spot things in the public domain that don't look right, or figures that don't add up - we're going to do some digging. Then we're then going to let you know what we've found out.
Welcome to Truth in Justice - a special Rethinking resource dedicated to combatting inaccurate information about issues of crime and justice in New Zealand.
In every edition we're going to focus on something that has been innacurately presented to the public. We'll take a closer look at what the evidence says and try to paint a much clearer picture of what's really going on.
The first edition is out now. Click here to read it.
Our subscribers will have Truth and Justice delivered straight to their inboxes. If you'd like to sign up to our mailing list, you can do so on the box to the right.
We're also interested to hear from people who have concerns about the validity of things they've come across. If you've spotted something in the public domain that you think is inaccurate, please let us know.
Just remember, we're focussed on the facts and not opinion.
