The primary purpose of the Robson Hanan Trust is to:
(a) Promote through public education, criminal justice policies and strategies which reduce crime and related social harm
(b) Implement socially innovative policies and programmes which reduce crime and related social harm
(c) Promote community participation and engagement in the reduction of crime, particularly within marginalised communities;
(d) Promote or commission research and evaluation to advance the development of effective criminal justice policies and practises;
(e) To work generally towards a more socially just and inclusive nation and to develop and promote systems, policies, programmes and strategies that build social capital and connectedness with disadvantaged families and whanau
