The Kaumātua has a key role in guiding the development of the Robson Hanan Trust's work in the area of Māori and the Criminal Justice System.
The Kaumātua’s role is to:
a) Provide guidance and strategic advice on the development of a Māori policy and research programme
b) Provide general guidance and strategic advice
c) Provide high level input into issues of Māori policy and research
d) Provide advice on Māori community engagement, networking and advocacy
e) Contribute an ‘insiders’ view on Māori and the Criminal Justice system
f) Ensure that the aspirations of Māori are addressed in all the Trust’s programmes and activities
