Background

Tony Paine has been CEO of Victim Support since 2008. Victim Support’s 900 volunteers and 140 staff provide practical and emotional support to over 50,000 people affected by crime or sudden trauma each year. Operating 24/7 in over 65 communities throughout New Zealand, Victim Support works in partnership with the NZ Police and is supported by 45 separately incorporated community committees.

 

Tony has over 25 years experience in not-for-profit management working in the health, social service and cultural sectors, including with the NZ AIDS Foundation in Auckland, and the Methodist Mission, Comcare Trust and Arts Centre in Christchurch. Tony served on the Board of Housing New Zealand for five years and has a Masters in Management Studies from Waikato University. He is married with two daughters.
